Welcome to Music in the Classroom!
I have designed this website for interactive lessons for teaching music, as well as ways to discover and explore music that promotes learning and growth in all aspects of music. Before I get into the details of the blog I want to introduce myself. My name is Kalyn and I am a third year Choral Music Education student at Kent State University. I have always been passionate and fascinated about music, specifically the ways in which it affects your brain and development. I was heavily involved in all types of music programs throughout high school and elementary school. I have been involved in numerous theatre productions, as well as choirs, bands, even as far as operas. I am also studying Theatre Performance, with the hopes of further incorporating both music and theatre, into a classroom setting. The purpose of this blog is to not only shed some light on the benefits Music Education and Theatre can bring to the classroom and developing students, but also for others to discover music in an interactive and educational way. All assignments and submissions will be available as well through the "Assignments" tab. Please feel free to explore the site, you never know what you might discover!
